Maleeka Salih
Maleeka Salih is a psychosocial trainer and researcher, with a special interest in programming and interventions for post-conflict and post-disaster contexts. Since 1999, she has assisted a range of government, UN and humanitarian agencies in Sri Lanka and the Maldives to integrate psychosocial approaches within their services and projects. Prior to this, Maleeka worked with drug rehabilitation and prevention services for the government of the Maldives. In addition, she has researched and published on micro-finance schemes, youth employment and private sector potentials for peacebuilding in Sri Lanka. Maleeka is the co-author of ‘Localising Transitional Justice in the context of Psychosocial Work’ and of ‘Sri Lanka – Business as an Agent for Peace: Supporting National, Provincial and Grassroots Private Sector Actors in Peacebuilding’. She is currently doing her PhD in Social Anthropology and International Health and Development through a joint program at the University of Edinburgh and the Queen Margaret University. Her doctoral research is on linkages between justice and wellbeing in Sri Lanka.
